This piece from the Bristol Collection has a natural, soft weave and is made of a blend of 60% pure New Zealand Wool and 40% viscose. It has a pile weight of ca. 3.0 kg/m2 and is backed on strong Cotton Cloth.
Wool is an excellent choice for rugs and carpets; sustainable, strong, hard-wearing, crush-resistant and abrasion-resistant. It is also naturally flame resistant – it smoulders and extinguishes itself instead of burning. Wool is highly resilient to dirt particles and is water resistant. It is an excellent insulator and has one of the highest insulation to weight ratios of any natural or man-made fibre. Wool responds very well to cleaning. This traditional fibre is a great choice for all kinds of floor covers for long term use and will stand the test of time.
Viscose is a natural fibre derived from wood pulp and contains cellulose. It is a non-static material and an excellent alternative to silk. Although Viscose has the shiny silk-like texture, it is very delicate as the cellulose fibre breaks down in the presence of water. Therefore it is important to ensure that it isn’t used in a high traffic flow area due to its delicate nature, or where there is a risk of staining through unfortunate spills. Viscose rugs are softer and more comfortable than most other fabrics, and have a natural lustre that adds a luxurious touch to any interior. With proper care they will provide truly stunning, time-wearing designs that stand out.
